Abstract
- Background: Early detection of liver dysfunction is crucial for timely intervention and management. Traditional liver function tests (LFTs) have limitations in sensitivity and specificity, necessitating the evaluation of newer diagnostic criteria. Objective: This study aims to compare the efficacy of different diagnostic criteria including Standard LFTs, Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF) Test in detecting early liver dysfunction. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 125 patients suspected of early liver dysfunction at a tertiary care center. Diagnostic efficacy was assessed through sensitivity, specificity, and odds ratios calculated for each diagnostic criterion. Statistical significance was determined using p-values.
