Abstract
- The article explores the intertextual relationship between Beaumont's play and the works of Shakespeare. Topics include the parodic elements of Beaumont's play that critique bourgeois drama and chivalric romance, the incorporation of Shakespearean echoes within the character Rafe's plot, and the dynamics of parental interference and romantic rebellion in the subplot involving Jasper and Luce.
