Abstract

The article discusses the collaborative efforts in San Antonio to address tree equity and bring back tree canopy cover to historically marginalized communities. American Forests has partnered with local organizations like Garcia St. Urban Farm, Bexar Branches Alliance, and American Youthworks’ Texas Conservation Corps to plant trees and provide fresh produce to the community. These partnerships aim to counteract the effects of extreme heat and systemic discrimination by fostering community support and long-term environmental stewardship. Through collaborative tree programs, diverse stakeholders are working together to promote urban greening and conservation in San Antonio. [Extracted from the article]
