International VETresearch deals with various aspects of VET beyond the national level or with an external view of the national level. German international VET research is dominated by descriptive country studies, international system comparisons and projects in the context of VETcooperation between Germany and other countries. This article reflects on the state of German international VET research, criticises its national self-centeredness and calls for a strengthening of research practices in international teams.
