Abstract

The article discusses a case of an 18-year-old male with lepromatous leprosy presenting with facial ulceration, anesthesia in the hands and feet, and other symptoms. The patient had characteristic physical findings, nerve thickening, and sensory/motor deficits. Treatment with multibacillary therapy led to improvement in the facial ulcers. The article highlights the persistence of leprosy as a public health issue, especially in developing countries like India, and discusses different causes of ulceration in leprosy, ruling out the Lucio phenomenon in this case.
