Abstract
- A woman in her late 30s with COVID-19 exhibited a lack of efficacy during treatment with multiple antibiotics and antifungals for bacterial and fungal infections. Despite receiving various treatments, including off-label IV corticosteroids and SC heparin for COVID-19, she developed multidrug-resistant sepsis and multiple organ failure, ultimately leading to her death on day 36 in the ICU. The case highlights the challenges of treating complex infections in critically ill patients, emphasizing the importance of early and effective interventions to improve outcomes.
