Abstract

A study conducted in India between April 2016 and February 2022 described nine patients (2 women and 7 men) aged 28-73 who developed acute kidney injury (AKI) while being treated with colistimethate sodium for suspected sepsis. The patients, critically ill and admitted to the ICU, received varying doses of IV colistimethate sodium, leading to the development of AKI by day 7 of treatment. Serum albumin levels and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores were monitored throughout the treatment period. [Extracted from the article]
