Abstract

The article discusses a feasibility study on using artificial intelligence (AI) for telephone triage of patients with suspected head and neck cancer. The study showed that most patients referred to secondary care for suspected head and neck cancer do not have cancer. Ufonia, a digital health company, developed an AI-driven clinical assistant named 'Dora' for this purpose, which was well-received by patients. The study demonstrated high data capture and accuracy levels with AI-led telephone calls, offering a promising solution for triaging suspected head and neck cancer patients remotely.
