Abstract

To analyze the effects of different dietary crude fiber levels on growth performance and slaughter performance of pigs. A total of 120 healthy meat sows from a pig farm in Chengxian County of Gansu Province were randomly selected and divided into three groups: low fiber group, middle fiber group and high fiber group, the effects on growth performance, slaughter performance and blood biochemical indexes were compared and analyzed. The results showed that the average daily feed intake of the three groups with different crude fiber levels was significantly different (P<0.05). The average daily feed intake of the high fiber group was significantly higher than that of the low fiber group and the middle fiber group (P<0.05), there were significant differences in backfat thickness and lean meat rate between high fiber group and low fiber group and medium fiber group (P<0.05), there were no significant differences in ketone body length, fat percentage, tenderness and blood biochemical indexes among sows fed with different crude fiber levels (P>0.05). Adding different levels of crude fiber to feed could significantly affect the average daily feed intake and pork quality, which provided a reference for the local pig industry to make high-quality pig feed scientifically and rationally.
