Abstract

Learning requires media assistance to improve efficiency. The aim of this study is to examine students' cognitive learning outcomes after learning dynamic fluid material about Toricelli using Toriduino. Toriduino is a learning tool that uses a microcontroller and a flowmeter sensor to replace traditional physics learning materials in the lab. This is a quantitative study involving thirty 11th grade students at the senior high school level. In the results it was verified that majority of the answers of the students who use Toriduino correctly answered the questions on the worksheet. Furthermore, the results of the students' questionnaire responses revealed that most students, 73.3%, agreed that Toriduino assisted them in understanding the topic of dynamic fluid in the Toricelli subchapter. After learning how to use Toriduino, students can identify the speed of fluid flow at the depth of the sensor, indicating that students cognitive learning outcomes are mostly at the level of understanding (C2) to analyzing (C4).
