Abstract

This article discusses the topic of acute abdominal pain caused by ovarian endometriosis, a common gynecologic disease. The study examined the characteristics and outcomes of patients who underwent surgical intervention for this condition. The findings suggest that certain symptoms, such as sudden onset of pain, enlargement of the adnexal mass with tenderness, and a history of dysmenorrhea requiring painkillers, are important indicators of ovarian endometriosis manifesting as acute abdominal pain. Patients with progressive ovarian endometriosis are more likely to experience severe pain, fever, and leukocytosis. The study recommends early intervention and elective surgery for stable patients, but acknowledges the limitations of its retrospective design and single-center data. Further research is needed to improve treatment and explore long-term outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
