Abstract
- The article discusses research which examined associations of peripheral neuropathy (PN) with lower extremity physical performance, including gait speed, in community-dwelling older adults with and without diabetes. Cited are the demographic and clinical characteristics of the study participants, results confirming the relationship between PN and slow gait persists into advanced age, and findings supporting the usefulness and feasibility of monofilament testing for gait dysfunction.
