Abstract

This article provides an overview of two opera performances at different venues. The first performance is of Arnold Schoenberg's "Gurre-Lieder" at the Teatro alla Scala, celebrating the composer's 150th birthday. The opera, composed in the late Romantic style, received positive feedback and applause from the audience. The second performance is of Nino Rota's "Un chapeau de paille d'Italie" at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, which was successful in its production. The author briefly mentions their own research project on Lise Cristiani, the first female cellist, and explains why they haven't written any reviews until now. [Extracted from the article]
