Abstract
- Apple has introduced a new Safari feature called Distraction Control in macOS Sequoia and iOS 18, which allows users to temporarily remove distracting elements on webpages. This feature is not an ad blocker, as ads still load, but users can make them disappear temporarily. Distraction Control can be used on any webpage element, including advertisements, headlines, paragraphs, images, and video windows. Users can select an element and make it disappear by clicking on it, and the webpage will reorganize to fill in the gap. The feature is available in macOS Sequoia beta 5 and the public release of September 16, but it is unclear if it will be available in later versions or older versions of macOS.
