Abstract
- This article, published in Movement Disorders Clinical Practice, describes two patients with advanced neurodegenerative parkinsonism who developed repetitive movements of the upper limbs. The authors suggest that these movements are indicative of clonic perseveration, a phenomenon characterized by excessive and pronounced repetitive movements. The first patient's movements were triggered by holding a newspaper, while the second patient's movements emerged from his typical parkinsonian rest tremor. The authors discuss the potential underlying pathogenic mechanism and emphasize the importance of recognizing clonic perseveration to avoid misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment.
