Abstract

This article discusses a case study of a 45-year-old female patient with dengue fever who developed thunderclap headache after receiving a platelet transfusion. The patient also experienced elevated blood pressure and had imaging scans that showed abnormalities in the brain. The condition was diagnosed as Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome (PRES), which is characterized by symptoms such as headache, altered mental status, seizures, and visual disturbances. The patient was treated with antioedema measures and anti-hypertensive agents, and her symptoms resolved. The article emphasizes the importance of recognizing and treating this rare but significant cause of headache in dengue patients. [Extracted from the article]
