Abstract

Russell Meares, a prominent figure in Australian psychiatry, passed away in 2024 after a long and influential career. Meares was known for his ability to integrate scientific thought with the humanities, and he continued to work and publish until his final illness. He developed the Conversational Model (CM), a psychodynamic therapy that has been effective in treating patients with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
