Abstract
- This research article describes zinc sulfate-supported cobalt oxide nanoparticles synthesized by microwave irradiation techniques. The prepared nanoparticles were further characterized using powder x-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The powder x-ray diffraction studies and the result show the good crystalline nature of the sample. The Fourier transform infrared spectrum shows the vibration of metal–oxygen functional groups. The presence of zing doped cobalt oxide nanoparticles was confirmed by UV-Visible spectroscopy. The as prepared zinc sulfate supported Co3O4 nanoparticles was analyzed for their antibacterial activity against Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis), Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria, and antifungal activity against (Aspergillus niger). The prepared nanoparticles exhibited a promising biomedical application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
