VISÃO DE ENFERMEIROS ACERCA DA UTILIZAÇÃO DE PROTOCOLOS PARA ASSISTÊNCIA A PACIENTES COM ÚLCERAS CRÔNICAS.

The objective of this research was to identify which guidelines and protocols are used by nurses in the care of patients with chronic ulcers. Field, quantitative and qualitative research carried out with nurses who provide care to patients with chronic ulcers in a hospital in the interior of the State of São Paulo. In data collection, a structured questionnaire was used in individual interviews on days scheduled in the units themselves. 66% of respondents report that they do not employ protocols in the care of patients with ulcers. 33% of respondents responded that they use a protocol, but when asked about which protocol was used for this service, they reported the Braden scale. The interviewed nurses think the use of protocols in the care of chronic wounds is important. This study proposes the elaboration of a protocol for the treatment of chronic ulcers with a theoretical-scientific basis and the training of nurses at the researched hospital to use the protocol in daily practice.
