Abstract
- I would like to present a thesis on political complexity informed by mathematical equations of biology. I am presenting at a conference in the United States for two reasons. First, unlike the United States, there is no division of political methodology in the Japanese Political Science Association, and in comparison to researchers in the U.S. [Epstein, Campbell and Mayer-Kress], few Japanese scholars specialize in political complexity. Second, I would like to introduce some of the suggestive findings of the many mathematicians, physicists and biologists who are researching complex systems in Japan [Kaneko and Ikegami, Mimura and Kan-on, Tokita and Yasutomi].
