Abstract

The article discusses the 70th anniversary celebrations of CERN, a European research center for particle physics. The center has made significant scientific discoveries and technological innovations over the years. The anniversary program includes various events and activities to highlight these achievements. The article also mentions the installation of the FAIR accelerator machine and the development of compact power plants for green hydrogen production. Additionally, the article discusses three different research projects in the fields of energy storage systems, quantum photonics, and astronomical measurements. These projects are conducted by various research institutions and funded by different organizations. The European Commission and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation are funding a project called RF 2.0, which aims to reduce the energy consumption of particle accelerators. The project takes a comprehensive approach to reducing energy consumption and aims to operate accelerators with renewable energy and minimal environmental impact. The research findings will also benefit other energy-intensive sectors such as healthcare and industry. [Extracted from the article]
