Abstract

This article addresses the impact of the advent of Weblogs on the printing of directory information references in the U.S. Distribution and production costs make the pure online option the only way to go for directory publishers. The Manufacturers' Agents National Association came to the same conclusion five years ago when it decided to give up on print and make its Directory available only electronically. InfoCommerce Group Inc. is not surprised at all by the move from paper to electronic. The company researches the directory industry and publishes Database Subscription Pricing Benchmark which examines the state of pricing for B2B subscription databases. The latest report, published in March 2005, presents data as of the end of 2004 and benchmarks it against InfoCommerce's research findings in 2000.
