Abstract
- This paper provides an overview of the current research status on the physical, chemical, and engineering characteristics of saline-alkali soils, focusing on issues such as dilatation, collapsibility, and freeze-thaw damage in the soil materials of saline-alkali soil regions. To mitigate the adverse effects of saline-alkali soils on engineering projects, common stabilization methods are summarized and their respective solidification mechanisms are analyzed. Furthermore, this paper reviews the physical and mechanical properties of saline-alkali soils after solidification through various approaches, particularly in cold regions. The prospects for the future development of solidifying saline-alkali soils are discussed, along with potential directions for engineering research in this field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
