With the widespread use of cosmetic surgery blepharoplasty, sunken upper eyelid deformities have become a common complication after blepharoplasty. Upper eyelid depression seriously affects the appearance of the eye and may be accompanied by incomplete lid closure and corneal ulceration. The main principles of repairing upper eyelid deformity after blepharoplasty are to restore normal anatomical relationships, release adhesions, and perform tissue filling to restore tissue volume. Tipped tissue flaps and free tissue grafts have been used to repair sunken upper eyelid deformities after blepharoplasty with good clinical results. Different treatment methods should be used for different cases of sunken upper eyelid deformity, depending on the patient's condition and complaints. Now, a review of the progress of treating upper eyelid depression after blepharoplasty with tipped tissue flaps and free tissue grafts is presented in conjunction with the analysis of domestic and international literature and a comprehensive comparison.
