Abstract

Nursing performance and empowerment play a crucial role in enhancing patient safety culture. Objective: The goal of this study was to identify how nursing performance and empowerment improve patient safety culture. This research used a literature review design. Twelve publications from the ScienceDirect, MEDLINE PubMed, and ProQuest databases were analysed for this project. Only English-language articles released between May 2017 and September 2023 were included in the literature. A total of 12 articles included for review, with articles rated as high-quality. Several studies have shown that enhancing nursing performance through better education, training, and clinical competence significantly contributes to a positive patient safety culture. This literature review highlights the crucial role of nursing performance and empowerment in improving patient safety culture Based on the scientific data presented in this literature review, decision-makers should consider developing pay systems incorporating credentialing, re-credentialing, and career ladders. It is recommended that future research examine the establishment of well-administered compensation systems for nurses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
