The Effect of Ergonomic Exercise on Quality of Sleep in Menopausal Women.

Abstract

Introduction: Sleep quality is one of how menopause can impact a person’s health. This research aims to discover whether or not postmenopausal women benefit from participating in ergonomic exercises. Materials and methods: This study used a quasi-experimental approach including a single-group intervention. A sample was taken from women aged 45 and above who had around 50 partners. The PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) was utilized for data collection. Ergonomic intervention, following the standard operating procedure for ergonomic practice, was administered on three occasions for three weeks. Univariate data analysis was conducted by calculating percentages, whereas bivariate data analysis was performed using a t-test. Results: Findings indicated that menopausal women in Babakan Sari Village exhibited substandard sleep quality during the pretest, with 30 individuals (60%) experiencing this issue. However, the posttest revealed a significant improvement, with the majority of participants, 40 individuals (80%), reporting satisfactory sleep quality. The t-test findings indicated a p-value of 0.00, which is less than the significance level of 0.05. Hence, engaging in ergonomic workouts proves to be efficacious in enhancing the quality of sleep among menopausal women. Conclusion: Enhancing sleep quality is observed following the implementation of ergonomic exercises, suggesting that health centers may consider including ergonomic exercises as a potential alternative intervention.
