Abstract
- This paper delves into the contributions of corpus linguistics towards qualifying the writing of argumentative essays in high school. The study is grounded in practice by means of teaching- learning sequences developed with third-year high school students, at a public school, in Portuguese Language classes. Activities concerning microlinguistics aimed towards the development of writing skills were administered with the help of the Sketch Engine software. As a result, it is visible that the tool allows for reflective practice concerning the language and that students displayed a better understanding regarding the structural organization of the argumentative essay.
