Abstract

I explored educational responses to our shared ecological precarity by combining ecological and educational research methods. Four teachers at three Denver Metro suburban schools expressed ecological relationships in their curriculum, revealing opportunities for ecological renewal. Findings illuminate relationships among life and place in suburban schools. This study adds evidence for the inclusion of place as a constitutive dimension of Eisner's ecology of schooling and reveals the camouflage curriculum that conceals, not by trickery, but by mundanity.
