Abstract

Based on panel data from 11 provinces (cities) in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2021, an evaluation index system for digital transformation and high-quality agricultural development was constructed using the entropy method. A bidirectional fixed effect model was used to empirically test the impact of digital transformation on high-quality agricultural development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, as well as regional heterogeneity and indicator heterogeneity. The research results indicate that digital transformation can drive the high-quality development of agriculture in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, which has passed the robustness test;the impact of digital transformation on the high-quality development of agriculture in different regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is heterogeneous. The promotion of high-quality agricultural development in downstream areas is the strongest, followed by the middle reaches, and weaker in upstream areas. After testing the heterogeneity of indicators, it was found that digital transformation has the strongest promoting effect on the sharing of high-quality agricultural development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, followed by innovation, coordination, and green, and has no significant impact on openness. Based on this, countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to strengthen the foundation engineering of digital technology, cultivate talents for agricultural digital application, strengthen the coordinated development of digital regions, and promote high-quality agricultural development.
