Abstract
- The aim of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Higher-order Thinking Skills Assessment Scale in Turkish context. The forward translation method was used in the adaptation process of the scale. The sample of this study, conducted using the survey method, consisted of 819 teacher candidates. Data were collected with both faceto- face and online forms. The data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis with SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21 softwares. As a result of the study, a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure teacher candidates' higher-order thinking skills was obtained. The original scale consists of 4 factors and 14 sub-dimensions, while the adaptation study to Turkish resulted in 4 factors. In this context, it is recommended that future studies be planned to include a larger and more heterogeneous sample. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
