Endovascular treatment is indicated as the method of choice in symptomatic patients with chronic pelvic venous occlusions. The case report presents a patient who had a recurrence of iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis 25 years after endovascular therapy for the primary event, when a short stent was inserted in the common iliac vein. Catheter directed thrombolysis was initiated and chronic occlusion of the inserted stent was detected. After unsuccessful attempts with standard methods, the recanalization was achieved extraluminally along the occluded stent by placing two venous stents in a parallel position. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
