Abstract

This manuscript basically overviews development, properties, and advancements in the field of three-dimensional graphene nanofoams or aerogels nanostructures. Graphene nanofoam nanostructures have been fabricated using range of techniques like chemical vapor deposition, freeze-drying, and others. Graphene nanofoam has been used to develop the nanocomposite nanostructures with the conjugated and nonconjugated thermoplastic matrices. Consequently, the microstructure and physical features of the graphene nanofoam nanocomposites have been investigated. Ensuing nanocomposites with graphene nanofoam have high surface area, flexibility, electrical and thermal conductivity, mechanical/thermal stability, and other physical characteristics. The performance of three-dimensional graphene nanofoam nanocomposites relies on the interactions between the graphene nanoarchitecture and matrices, formation of interlinked assemblies, and their structure–property relationship. High-performance graphene nanofoam nanocomposites have been applied in the technological fields such as photovoltaics, microbial fuel cells, supercapacitors, radiation shielding, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
