Abstract

This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of guanidineacetic acid (GAA) on growth performance, organ indexes, nutrient and amino acid apparent digestibility of short-haired black famale minks. Sixty short-haired black famale minks with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into 6 groups with 10 replicates in each group and 1 mink per replicate. Single cage feeding. The minks in control group were fed basal diet, the minks in experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 200, 400, 600, 800 mg/kg and 1 000 mg/kg GAA. The preexperimental period lasted for 1 week and the experimental period was divided into experimental periodⅠ (1 to 5 weeks) and experimental period Ⅱ (6 to 10 weeks). The results showed as follows: compared with the control group, ① the basal diet supplemented with 600 mg/kg GAA significantly increased the average daily gain (ADG) during Ⅰ, Ⅱ and whole period (P<0.05), significantly decreased the ration of feed to gain (F/G) duringⅠ, Ⅱ and whole period (P<0.01), and significantly increased the average daily feed intake (ADFI) during whole period (P<0.01), the basal diet supplemented with 1 000 mg/kg GAA significantly increased the ADFI during period Ⅱ (P<0.01); ② the basal diet supplemented with 200 mg/kg GAA significantly increased cardiac index (P<0.05), and 1 000 mg/kg GAA group extremely significantly increased intestinal length (P< 0.01); ③ the basal diet supplemented with 400 mg/kg GAA extremely significantly increased the digestibility of crude protein (CP) during period Ⅰ (P<0.01), the basal diet supplemented with 600 mg/kg GAA significantly increased the digestibility of crude fat (EE) during period Ⅱ (P<0.05) and extremely significantly increased the digestibility of Ash, calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) during period Ⅱ (P<0.01), and 1 000 mg/kg GAA significantly increased CP digestibility during period Ⅱ (P<0.05); ④ the basal diet supplemented with 600 mg/kg GAA significantly increased the digestibility of total amino acid (TAA) during period Ⅰ and glutamic (Glu) during period Ⅱ (P<0.05), extremely significantly increased the digestibility of lysine (Lys) during period Ⅰ and TAA during period Ⅱ (P<0.01), the basal diet supplemented with 800 mg/kg GAA extremely significantly increased the digestibility of cystine (Cys), methionine (Met) and arginine (Arg) during period Ⅰ (P<0.05), and extremely significantly increased the digestibility of Met and histidine (His) (P<0.05) during period Ⅱ, the basal diet supplemented with 800 mg/kg GAA extremely significantly increased the digestibility of valine (Val) and His during period Ⅰ (P<0.01), and extremely significantly increased the digestibility of Lys and Arg during period Ⅱ (P< 0.01). Comprehensive analysis of growth performance, organ index, apparent digestibility of nutrient and amino acids, basal diet supplemented with 600-800 mg/kg GAA is recommended for famale minks during growing period Ⅰ and Ⅱ.
