Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the challenges on the insertion of refugee as lecturers in Higher Education Institutions in Brazil, based on Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of classification, field and habitus. A documentary analysis was carried out on the Emergency Academic Solidarity Program, which promotes the enrollment of refugee professors and researchers into undergraduate courses. Results show that by utilizing criteria that classify a person as a refugee, the program enables this group access to institutions. Thus, the classification changes the functioning of the field by inserting agents distinct from other candidates into stable socio-political conditions. However, the act of classification alone is not enough. It is necessary to observe possible barriers, such as: the lack of knowledge on the topic of refuge and the habitus of the agents who carry out the program locally [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
