Carboplatin/Etoposide/Ifosfamide: Lack of efficacy: case report.

A 13-year-old boy experienced a lack of efficacy during his treatment for an intracranial non-germinomatous germ cell tumor. He received carboplatin, ifosfamide, and etoposide, but after two cycles of chemotherapy, an MRI showed an increase in tumor size. The tumor was surgically removed and histology revealed that it had transformed into embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Molecular characterization confirmed the initial diagnosis, and the boy planned to undergo six chemotherapy cycles followed by high-dose craniospinal radiation. [Extracted from the article]
