Abstract
- An 18-year-old boy with pilocytic astrocytoma experienced lack of efficacy during treatment with carboplatin and etoposide. The boy had a solid-cystic lesion in the pineal region and underwent surgery to remove it. However, after three years, disease progression was observed despite receiving carboplatin and etoposide. The boy underwent further surgeries and radiation therapy, but disease progression continued. In January 2020, he started combination therapy with bevacizumab and irinotecan, which improved his condition. As of January 2023, he had stable disease with no symptomatic recurrence.
