Abstract
- "The Co-op" by Tarah DeWitt is a sensitive romance novel that explores the concept of a marriage of convenience. LaRynn and Deacon, who spent summers together as children, inherit a co-op property after the deaths of their grandmothers. In order to access her trust fund, LaRynn needs to be married, and Deacon needs capital to fix up the property. They agree to a temporary marriage until the work is done, but as they live and work together, old feelings resurface and they help each other heal from past hurts. DeWitt skillfully addresses difficult topics while maintaining a sense of fun, using the renovations as a metaphor for rebuilding relationships. [Extracted from the article]
