Abstract

This article explores the use of cervical elastography in assessing cervical remodelling and predicting spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) in singleton pregnancies. The study enrolled pregnant women scheduled for first trimester ultrasound scans, and cervical elastography was conducted in both the first and second trimesters. The results showed that cervical elastography parameters differed significantly between the first and second trimesters, with certain parameters being higher or lower in the preterm birth group compared to the term birth group. The study concludes that cervical elastography can be used to visualize changes in cervical remodelling and that combining certain parameters can help predict the risk of sPTB and a short cervix.
