Abstract

The article discusses the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), which was founded in 1947 with the goal of providing rescue for the needy, common initiatives in mission, joint efforts in theology, and a common response to the ecumenical challenge. The LWF now consists of 150 member churches globally and engages in relationships with each other, deliberation on matters of faith, ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, and service to people in need. The article also highlights the Thirteenth Assembly of the LWF, which took place in Kraków, Poland, and explores themes of reformation and hope. It includes articles by theologians discussing theological emphases, gender justice, and the need for Christianity to "step out of itself" and embrace transformation. [Extracted from the article]
