Abstract
- Nanostructure of copper doped cobalt oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by microwave irradiation assisted method. The prepared nanoparticles were further characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The crystalline nature of the nanoparticles is evident from the presence of peaks in the powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The average crystallite size is found to be 20 nm calculated using Debye-Scherer formula. The different functional groups and molecular vibrations are conformed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The morphological survey of prepared nanoparticles is done by using SEM at 200 nm and 1 µm, respectively. From the micrograph we can confirm the needlelike morphology. The optical properties of nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy. From the tauc plot it is found to be 4.52 eV for indirect transition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
