Abstract

This article discusses the importance of selecting the appropriate container for propagating native shrubs in ecological restoration projects. The study specifically focuses on the propagation of two shrub species native to the Mojave and Sonoran deserts in the southwestern USA. The researchers compared the survival and growth of seedlings in different container sizes and materials. They found that small, plastic cones were the most effective containers, resulting in the highest seedling survival and requiring the least amount of resources. The study highlights the need for further research on container selection and its impact on field outplanting success. [Extracted from the article]
