Abstract
- This document is a reply to a correspondence regarding an article on the factor analysis of clinical characteristics in patients with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). The authors address three issues raised in the correspondence, including the possible genetic components affecting ABPA, the generalizability of the data, and the diagnosis of ABPA without asthma. They discuss the need for future genome-wide association studies on ABPA, reanalyze cases using modified diagnostic criteria, and provide data on the prevalence of ABPA without asthma in Japan. The authors express their hope for global studies to further understand ABPA. [Extracted from the article]
