Abstract
- This study examined the performance of a recycled AA6061 alloy that was reinforced with nano MgO ceramic reinforcing particles using the stir casting method and compared it with recycled aluminium alloys. To attain a consistent distribution of reinforcement inside matrix materials, the casting process was employed utilizing a stir casting technique, with a melt temperature of 720°C and a stirring speed of 500 rpm. The samples have been separated into two independent categories, namely the group conducting the experiment and the group acting as a control. The statistical significance between these two groups is assessed through their use of T-test analysis. The observation shows that significance p=0.000 was obtained, which is less than 0.05, indicating that there is statistically significant difference between the two groups. In the context of this investigation, it was observed that the flexural strength of newly developed composites, consisting of recycled AA6061 alloy reinforced with nano-Magnesium oxide, exhibited a notable increase of 28%. This enhancement can be attributed to the amplified surface areas resulting from the interaction between the composite constituents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
