Abstract

The article discusses the phenomenon known as imposter phenomenon (IP), which is characterized by feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy despite external evidence of success. The author explores the implications of labeling IP as a syndrome and argues that it may stigmatize individuals and oversimplify their experiences. Instead, the author suggests reframing IP as a phenomenon and adopting a holistic approach to address its underlying causes and consequences. The article also highlights the importance of individual and institutional strategies, as well as peer support, in challenging IP and fostering a supportive work environment. Ultimately, the goal is to empower individuals and promote positive self-perception. [Extracted from the article]
