Critical Response VII: Theories We Desire With: A Rejoinder.

The author presents a rejoinder to the critiques of her essay "Queer Rigidity: Habit and the Limits of the Performativity Thesis" published in Summer 2024 issue. Topics include the basic aims of queer theory, the author's thoughts on the suggestion that she would do well to treat queer theory less as a set of theoretical claims through metaphor and more as a historical object, and her views on the import of acknowledging queer theory's historical roots in feminism as stressed by a responder.
