Abstract
- Physics instructors have faced challenges in providing relevant and interesting content to students in distant courses during the COVID-19 pandemic. To address this, a study used the manual focusing feature of smartphone cameras to demonstrate the relative positions of images in mirror and lens setups. Videos of manual focus practices were recorded and shown to students during distant optics lessons. The videos were found to be effective in helping students understand the concepts of image formation and light ray propagation. The use of smartphones with manual focus features can be a valuable tool for optics labs and can also be utilized by students for extracurricular learning. [Extracted from the article]
