La construcción de mega-regiones transfronterizas: la experiencia de Cali-Baja.

The objective of the article is to present the results of research on the construction of cross-border mega-regions, specifically Cali-Baja, based on their nature and role in industrial development linked to global production networks, which promotes economic complementarity, and despite the process of corporatization that occurred at some point, the territorial dynamics itself prevailed. In methodological terms, semi-structured interviews were applied to key actors and information generated from other tools such as focus groups was recovered. It is concluded that the construction of the mega-regions located along the U.S.-Mexico border is the result of multiple factors, but ends up being a social construction of those who inhabit and live in the region.
