Abstract

A Bayesian re-analysis of the ECLS-SHOCK trial on extracorporeal life support (ECLS) in acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock (AMICS) suggests that the routine use of ECLS may not significantly reduce mortality. The analysis also indicates a high probability of bleeding and vascular complications, urging caution in the use of ECLS in AMICS to balance potential benefits against the risk of adverse outcomes. The study group involved in the research includes various medical professionals from different institutions. [Extracted from the article]
