Who carries the extra load? The added responsibility of end‐of‐life care for rural families.

The article offers a perspective on the added responsibility of end-of-life health care for rural families in Australia. It describes the experience of rural carers of patients and the additional challenges they face, such as the stress of going to the city for health services, difficulty of navigating metropolitan health services and attitude of stoicism or self-sufficiency. It cites the benefits of end-of-life caring in a rural community and calls for providing practical help to rural carers.
