Abstract

This article presents a case study of a 52-year-old man who presented with painless swelling in his submandibular glands and multiple subcutaneous lumps. Further examination revealed enlarged submandibular glands, ankle arthritis, and lytic lesions in his legs. Diagnostic tests showed markers of inflammation and hypermetabolism in various areas of his body. Histopathologic examination confirmed a diagnosis of extranodal Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD), a rare histiocytic neoplasm. The patient was prescribed prednisolone and methotrexate, which led to gradual improvement of his symptoms. The article provides information on the differential diagnosis and treatment recommendations for RDD. [Extracted from the article]
